How can you help?
By becoming a member of CALSCA.
Who can join?
You don't have to be a Life Skills Coach to become a member...anyone with an interest in supporting the work of Life Skills Coaches and the advancement of the NewStart model can join.
Why become a member?
Lots of reasons. Research in the areas of Education, Employment, Crime Prevention, Effective Parenting, and Health, to name a few...is very clear. Good problem and decision making skills, healthy interpersonal skills and effective coping skills are essential. Supporting the teaching of these skills, through the NewStart model, is what CALSCA is all about.CALSCA is also a voluntary organization which means that while coaches get paid in their daily work, those who work to keep CALSCA running do not.
Where do your membership dollars go?
CALSCA needs your membership support to maintain the website and Listserver, which gives you access to Life Skills Coaching resources and information across Canada.
What are the advantages to this information and resource tool ?
There are many. Belonging to a professional community, improved coaching performance and student learning, networking with other coaches, furthering the development of the NewStart model and personal and professional support...are a few.
